  1. Just wanted to ask if you have read David Graeber’s ‘Debt: the first 5000 years’? I’m 20 years old and really only just getting into Marxist work, but I found it a really compelling and interesting book to read alongside books on MMT and Marxist economics. The discussion of how essentially any monetary system based on debt will collapse and the ways that over time states found new ways to sort of expand the money loop to try and escape collapse through outsourcing and increasing the supply of money to be super interesting and a convenient coalescence of readings.

P.s. I’ve found you to be someone who really helps me conceive of Marxist economics and apply them to the Australian context so thank you for that.

    1. Hi Fraser, yes I have and I enjoyed reading it. How it fits together with a more Marxian theory of money I don’t know – partially because I need to think and read more about money. Thanks for the kind words
